Come and try your hand at carving a beautiful and functional bowl and spoon from locally grown timber.
Spoon Carving:
We will start the course in the woods selecting the timber which you will transform into your own unique spoon. During the day we will look at safe carving techniques as you use axe, knife and spoon knife to complete your master piece.
Bowl Carving:
Beginning with a green unseasoned log you will work through a variety of stages firstly with the splitting of a short section of hardwood, then, using axe and gouges to shape a bowl of your own design. Your finished bowl will be quite sculptural and probably unique, and definitely very satisfying to create.
