Do you feel that life in our modern world means that we and our children are loosing touch with basic skills and awareness of our outdoor environment?
If you’d like to spend quality time with your family, uninterrupted by the everyday trappings of consumer life, then this family friendly weekend in the woods may be the answer. For those who long to pass on practical skills as well as an understanding and appreciation of nature and outdoor living, the course is suitable for parents with 5-12 year olds and will include:
- Fire skills and camp cooking
- Tool safety and use
- Fireside crafts
- Shelter building
- Nature awareness games
- Storytelling
The course is set in our basecamp at Old Wives Wood near Sicklinghall in beautiful Wharfedale. The wood is set on a gentle hillside above the River Wharfe and is ancient broadleaved woodland with a carpet of bluebells and wild garlic.
Accommodation is camping within the wood. All meals are included within the course.
